Visiting Giselle

This weekend, Mommy, Nanna and Mateo went to Temecula to visit mommy's friend Mirna and her family. Her little girl Giselle's Birhtday was on May 31st and we got to celebrate her 4th Birthday with her. She had a Little Mermaid party. The kids spent most of the day in the pool and full of sweets ~ pinata candy, cake, and a cotton candy machine. Sounds like kid heaven to me. And yes, Mateo got to share in all of it, and his first taste of cotton candy. But not his first pinata.. I think he is up to about 4 now. He will be quite the pro by his own birthday next month. We had a lot of fun with the other kids... even though Mateo was not his usual self. A lot of yelling, not listening...etc etc. I am hoping it was because of the long car ride and different environment. Or a phase that will be very short lived. Mateo got to go in the pool a little bit.. he probably would have liked it better if mommy got in to but maybe next time. He did a lot of falling too but he's a boy... what do you expect... good thing he's a great healer! He shared his favorite movie "Tarzan" with Giselle, but she wasn't too interested. What do you expect, she is a princess and likes princess movies :-). The car ride home wasn't too bad. Mommy and Nanna must know Tarzan by heart now.. he watched a whopping 3 1/2 times on the way home.. kept him entertained. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Helping Daddy Celebrate the BIG 40!

For daddy's Birthday we started the day off with presents in bed. Daddy got a lot of stuff including a cool Speed Racer car. Speed Racer was daddy's favorite cartoon when he was a little boy. Then we had cake.. the traditional ice-cream cake from Baskin Robbins. Then we were off to the beach. Daddy got to choose what we did and he wanted to go to the beach and fish.
We found a beautiful spot by the lighthouse. Nice for fishing and nobody around. Mateo and mommy picked shells while Daddy fished. And thank goodness Mateo finished his snacks and was able to use the can for his shells.. it kept him busy for hours... to think what we would have done without it!
Then daddy caught a fish... a Cabazone.. never heard of that one but daddy was happy and Mateo got to help! We finished the day with a dinner sitting outside on the water at Sam's Chowder House which we will definitely go back to. Daddy said it was the best dinner he has ever had. woo Hoo!!

Our morning bike rides!

This weekend has been hot so we have started our mornings with early bike rides and a trip to the park! Mateo loves putting on his helmet and getting into his seat.

A busy weekend

This last weekend was busy for us. Nanna and Nonno were over watching Mateo while we were working.. and then sort of last minute Nanna and Nonno were nice enough to stay for the weekend and Jeff and I took a last minute over night trip to Lake Tahoe. The weather was nice and I did pretty well playing black jack. We had a nice relaxing time without a screamer for 24 hours. Then Sunday we all went to the Asparagus Festival. It was fun but too HOT!
