Rainforest Cafe

The night before Disneyland we took Mateo to the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney. He was fascintated by the animals and the fish tank. But he was not too fond of the thunder and rain when the thunderstorms came. He was actually pretty scared. Just wanted to share the pictures cause I love how they came out!

Legoland

Legoland was so much FUN! I don't think any of us expected to have such a good time there. Mateo just passed the 36 inch height marker so he was able to ride a lot of the rides. He was even able to ride a lot of them himself! He LOVED it! And our little man is quite the ride thrill seeker, the faster they went, the more he shrieked and loved it. We went on a ton of rides. The park was not crowded so we were able to go on rides over and over, many times never having to get off which Mateo loved. I think the best part was Mateo got to ride his first roller coaster! He screamed and laughed as we all did. He kept yelling "hold on tight", the cutest thing ever! Again due to the lack of crowds, we were able to ride it many many times. The day left for a short, short nap and a pooped little man on the walk back to the hotel. Legoland is a definite must do for the little ones and I am sure we will be heading back one day!

San Diego and The San Diego Wild Animal Park

I am adding a few pictures just for updates. We have taken so many pictures.. I will probably redo this when we get home.

As you can see, we rode the carousel 3 times...and each time on a different animal! And finally we have hopefully permanently graduated to riding an animal instead of sitting on the bench. In the past he was too scared to ride the animals. Now all he can do is say "weee" and want to go again and again!!

Just a little blurb

Yay! We are finally on vacation. I will post pictures later but had to leave this little blurb. As we all know gas prices have fallen dramatically. At home the last I paid was $1.61/gallon. Then we get to San Diego, and gas is $1.87 and we have to comment on the differene and how "expensive" it is here...it cost me $41.00 to fill an empty tank, then consider the last time we made this trek, gas was about
$4/ gallon and it cost almost $100 to fill it. Just gave us a good laugh!!

Vacation ~ here we come!

YEAHHHHH! Our family vacation is only 5 days away! This year we decided to forego a summer vacation. Primarily due to the fact that Jeff did not want to get on a plane with a screaming, antsy 2 year old. And for us Disneyland is not a summer adventure but always a Christmas one. So we decided to put our "Summer" vacation on hold and do a long winter vacation. Our plan is to stay in Carlsbad at a hotel right outside Legoland. I am taking Jeff and Mateo to San Diego on Saturday. A place that I truly love and am very familiar with. Our first mission is to eat at my favorite place...The Old Town Mexican Cafe..yumm!! Then on Sunday we are taking Mateo to The Wild Animal Park ~ very fitting being that his animals still rule the world. He knows that we are going to a park to see animals that is "far away". I am sure he'll love it. Then Monday we are off to Legoland.. and from what I hear it is an awesome place for little ones! Our hotel has a back entrance so that makes it convenient. Then on Tuesday we travel back to Disneyland. For the first time ever for Jeff and myself we will be staying at the Disneyland Hotel. Mainly due to accidentally getting a members only offer with great rates! I am sure we will spend plenty of time in downtown Disney and then on Wednesday we are going to Disneyland. We are so excited! We are hoping Mateo will love it as much as we do. He has been once before.. but was way too little to remember! Then on Thursday we are going to Knott's.. one of Jeff's requests... and then home on Friday! We were lucky enough to get GREAT discounts to all the parks so that really helps.. and the little man is still too little to actually count as a paying person.. Yippee for us!
