My little Fisherman!

A little while back Jeff bought Mateo a Mickey fishing pole and he has been dying to go fishing since. So this weekend, we woke up at the crack of dawn and headed to our little spot on the lake. Mateo was excited and all was good. It took a little while but Jeff caught a little bass that he was teaching Mateo how to hold and shortly after Mateo went on a fish catching spree. He caught 7, yes 7 bluegill. The water was so clear that you could actually see the fish eating the worms. He had so much fun and of course wanted to do it again and again. But how will we explain to the little man next time when it probably won't be so easy to catch so many fish.
He can't wait to go fishing again!

Bug Catchers!

For about the past month, Mateo has been FASCINATED with BUGS! It doesn't matter what kind, as long as it moves... and quite honestly even if it doesn't move. He screams with joy for Jeff and I to come and look at what he's found. It's very cute but tiring too. Well over the weekend Jeff and Mateo got a bug catcher. So they headed right out to the backyard to catch some bugs!

Potty Training...Success in small steps~

We have been trying with the whole potty training on and off for a while. Mateo hasn't really had too much interest, and theres no need to push him. Well this weekend, we were home and had some serious time to spend on it and miraculously we had some success. I decided to keep him diaperless in hopes it would help. Well the first incident led to him hiding and peeing in his closet...yeah not a good thing. And that was after sitting on the potty many, many times.
But on day two. After trying many times to sit on the potty with no success, he then went outside to play in the pool diaperless. Much to our surprise 5 min later he was knocking on the back door saying he had to go potty. Jeff took him into the bathroom, he sat on his potty, asked Jeff to leave and woala. He peed all by himself. Which obviously resulted in a treat and a trip to get some ice cream. He was very excited but hmmm was it a fluke, can we keep it going? Updates soon to come.
And my husband thinks I am crazy cause I took pictures... but what can I say~!

This is my cheesy grin~!

The Heat Is On!

This weekend was HOT! So we broke out the pool, the water table, and the sprinklers! Mateo spent most of his time outside and had a blast. And of course, his animals kept him busy the whole time. He plays with them more than any other toy. We often wonder why we even have other toys??? But needless to say, Mateo beat the heat with water, water and more water! What more can a little boy ask for?

all cheezed up and ready to go outside!

Animals are coolin off too

Would you please stop taking my picture!!!!!!!!

How cute are them little buns. We spent a lot of time diaperless hoping for potty success!

Go Fly a Kite!

Usually I try not to work my full shift 1 day a week. If I do that next day Mateo and I are on our own for the day. That usually means little to no sleep for me. Well today...work got busy and I didn't get home til after 7. Only to find Mateo still asleep and Jeff just laying next to him. He looked at me and said "how bout I take a work share day and you can get some sleep". Woo hoo for me. Especially since Mateo had a Dr's appt in Livermore at 2pm. So as I went to sleep Jeff and Mateo headed downstairs to have daddy's specialty breakfast - Mickey and Minnie pancakes.
I guess after breakfast they headed out to the park. It has been pretty windy so they went to fly the kite. Mateo insisted on carrying the kite on the whole way to the park. Then Jeff let Mateo fly it all by himself. I wish I would have been there.. but then oh how I do love my sleep too!! Luckily Jeff took pictures on his phone. Hope you enjoy them!!

Such a big boy!

Look mommy, I can fly a kite all by myself!

A prediction of the next few years!!

Boys in our house

There are boys in my house – and Spiderman shoes
And 200 papers in various blues.
There's Bob (he's a builder) and Thomas the Train,
There's a fireman coat to wear in the rain.
They have cars on their shirts and frogs on their hats
There's a glove and a ball and a red plastic bat.
There's dirt on a face and a smudge on a nose;
Grass stains on knees and sand between toes.
There's bathtime at night with bodies to scrub,
And when we're all done there is dirt in the tub!
There's bandaids and bruises and curious bumps,
There's smiles and laughter and sometimes there's grumps.
There's odors most icky; there's boogers so green
There's more yucky things than I'll ever get clean.
There's piles of laundry; there's stories at night;
There's bedtime and bathtime and dinnertime fights.
There's cars and there's trains and there's books about trucks
There's Scoop, Lofty, Dizzy, and Travis, and Muck.
Sometimes there are bugs, and sometimes there are frogs;
Sometimes they are lions, or dinos, or dogs.
There are cute little vests and darling neckties
Dragged right through the mud – oh what a surprise!
There's running and climbing and jumping and falling
And laughing and crying and hugging and brawling
And rolling and losing and finding and creeping
And whining and stealing and sometimes there's sleeping.
There's tantrums and time outs and extra loud noise –
There's love in my house shaped like two little boys.

Ultrasound at 17 weeks 4 days!

Just an ultrasound we did at work for fun... trying to see if we have a little girl or boy baby in there. Little one was not cooperating. Anyways.. it's fun to watch. The beginning is harder to see...mainly a belly and legs but towards the end you can really see the whole body and how much the little one is moving and shaking in there. Hope to get a better one soon!

Pregnancy Woes!

So this has not been the best week. This pregnancy is so different than when I was pregnant with Mateo. With Mateo, besides some nausea and being tired.. once ~14 weeks passed, things were great and I loved being pregnant. Given at this point, I am 13 weeks today.. but this little one is kicking my butt! I have had 2-3 colds and this week has hit me with a full blown, on my back, cold. Can't stop coughing, sneezing, blowing my nose and feeling like crap. If you know me, I never call in sick to work. Well I caved in on Thursday night and called in. My mom was here with Mateo so that helped. With Jeff working and having a class on Saturday, I sent Mateo home with my mom so he could visit my dad. He was excited to go, and it gives me a few days on my own. Just to lay in bed and get some much needed rest. I saw my Dr on Friday and he gave me some antibiotics, so hopefully they will kick in soon. Hopefully once I am back to my normal self and beginning to enjoy this pregnancy, I will keep this blog updated with pics of our cute little man!! Off to rest.

Yay Mateo!

Yesterday I decided. It's time. Mateo is a big boy and he needs to start going potty like the big boys. Well we started out the morning by sitting on the potty every hour. And he then decided he did not want to wear a diaper. Well about 20 min later, he told me he had to Poop! Pulled his pants down, sat him on the potty.. and he POOPED! Ok could that be so easy? Or just good timing. He got a "special treat" ~ a girl scout cookie and we have been sitting on the potty every hour since. We will see how this goes. It is time though. Given we have 5 months, but he has to be pottytrained for preschool which starts at the beginning of August and I am not going to have two children in diapers!!

Good job Mateo.. Mommy is so PROUD of yoU!!

Time for preschool all ready?

Today we signed Mateo up for preschool. He will be just a few weeks over 3 when school starts and I think he is ready. He is a little sponge that picks things up so easily. Plus he needs the interaction with little ones his own age and to be in a situation where Mommy is not around. I am hoping he does well. Right now sharing is not on his list of things to do. We are working on it though. I think that will be his biggest obstacle. Where has the time gone? Timing is perfect too because this way by the time the little one arrives he will have been in school for a month. Hopefully be settled, look forward to it, and have something to look forward to that is just for him. This will also give me some quiet time with the baby. At least thats the plan... we will see how it all pans out!

Baby Williams # 2 is on it's way!!

Due to arrive ~ September 2009!!

We are all very excited. It took a little while for the announcement. I wanted to make sure things were progressing well and we got to see a picture and see the heartbeat of our little sweet pea before we spilled the beans. I feel like crap. I dont remember morning sickness being like this the first time around, but I also wasn't chasing a toddler. I am just looking forward to the next few weeks when the m/s is gone, I get a much needed boost of energy, and am past the 12 week mark!!

I started a baby site (as I did when I was pregnant with Mateo) for this little one and will post the link soon! There will be most of the updates, doctor appts, ultrasound pics etc.

I have been so terrible at this!

Wow... time goes by too fast and I have been horrible about posting. Mateo is 2 1/2 where has the time gone? I got a CD of his babysite that was so worth it! It looks exactly as it did when you logged in. Such a great keepsake. I am going to continue the site but fresh all new and will probably be doing it now by calendar year to make things easier. As for Mateo.. he is 2... and yes he is Terrible~~ Sometimes I am ready to open the front door and loan him to the first taker and other times he is so darn cute and sweet I can't believe he's our little man. Currently he is playing with water in the kitchen sink. He LOVES water and loves to wash his hands.. it has become an obsession..good thing though..stinky little boy hands are yucky! A funny...tonight when I asked him what we were going to do.. he looked at me and said "vacuum". yes my son loves to vacuum.. wonder if it will last?
His favorite word is "NO" go figure.. he loves to play with friends.. although he shares better at other peoples homes or when we are out. He does not sit still... at home or out. He has constant ants in his pants. He is still a picky eater...cereal, waffles, pancakes, pb&j, cliff bars, YOGURT, pudding, McDonalds chicken nuggets, apple dippers and chocolate milk.. he can order that off the menu.
He now has "favorites", like his favorite car and commercial. It took a while for his toys to entertain him.. but now he loves his hotwheels and ramps. Finally! Favorite cartoons - Still Tarzan, Mickey, Caillou and now a bit of Tigger and Pooh and Little Einsteins. That's all for now.. mainly just want to chronicle some of the fun stuff!

Nonno and Uncle Pete turn the big "60"~

Today we celebrated Nonno and Unlce Pete's 60th Birthdays! We had the party at Nanna's house so she could be there with us. As are all parties at Nanna and Auntie Rita's house ~ we celebrate in the garage! (same place I had my baby shower). It was good food and fun times, especially for the little ones. Unfortunately.. Jen,Jeff,Brennan and Meredith could not make it because Brennan got sick (we hope you feel better). The kids had a great time though. They played, and ran, and played and ran the whole time... seriously almost 4 hours straight. And the fun part, most of it was without toys. They just chased, giggled and giggled some more. We went to the park and played some more! They had a great time playing. It was fun for Mateo to be able to play with Tyler and do boy stuff and Katie was the perfect big sister, little mommy. She took such good care of him. I pretty much didn't have to worry! Hope you enjoy the pictures.. as you can see, they are all of the kids!

One of the things that keeps them entertained at Nanna's~ all the airplanes flying over. Some of them are HUGE and so close!

Winding down watching Sponge Bob after a long day!
