Happy 3rd Birthday Little Man!

This year we went back to Gilroy Gardens for Mateo's actual "Birthday". Last year we had so much fun, it was just so unbearably HOT! I was a little worried about it this year being that this time around I have a big ol' belly, but the weather was perfect and we had a blast! Mateo loves the rides and the water park. It was a great day that ended with the traditional ice cream cake. (Too bad Baskin Robbins didnt realize until the last minute that they didnt have the cake toppers I ordered.. i guess they did ok with their "fix")

Happy 3rd Birthday my little man. I love you more than you will ever know. You have made the past 3 years so memorable and wonderful. Watching you grow and learn is truly amazing. You are such a smart little man and never cease to surprise me. Your personality and your smile light up the room. Yes, you have your moments, and your drive me crazy (a lot) but I wouldnt trade it for the world. It's hard to even remember before you were here. I am looking forward to all the new memories we have in store for us!! Your next big event... preschool...

Mateo is a little thrill seeker and loves rides. These rides are pretty minor but his favorite.. rides that go fast! Love this little man!

Sooo much fun playing in the water!

Happy 4th of July!!

Pictures to come soon. This year we had a fun, relaxing Fourth. We started the day by Yikes - going to Manteca to buy some fireworks. Not allowed in Tracy - go figure, what's the difference? Well Jeff thought it would be fun and Mateo would like it. Poor little man tried so hard to have patience to wait until it was dark out so we could do them. But once darkness hit, it was a blast. He LOVED the sparklers...maybe a little too much - No Fear for a little boy. We had snakes - which seriously are the dumbest things ever but I guess not to an almost 3 year old little boy. Fun flowers, piccolo pete's which took him a second to get used to and good old fun ones that makes lots of sparks! He loved it all. Then to make it even better, the neighbors in the court next to us had the real fireworks. We had a perfect view. Never had to leave the house. All in all a fun, relaxing 4th!!

Potty Success!

Yay! We have hit a major milestone! No diapers in the house for over a week. And yesterday, Mateo went poop in the potty 2 times. He is doing such a good job. We stopped the diapers last week and went to Big Boy underwear with a pullup on top, or sometimes we just went with a bare butt. Except for 2 little accidents.. he always told us when he needed to go "pee in the potty". At night we put on a diaper for just in cases but he has woken up dry too for the past week. He goes pee when he wakes up in the morning like a champ. Last week we were out shopping, he kept telling me he had to go potty, (remember at home he always goes in his potty chair, not the toilet) so we tried one store. He didn't like it and changed his mind. Next store, same thing, went to the bathroom, which was kinda gross, he looked at it and said No. He didn't want to come home, then on to store #3. Again he wanted to go pee, we took one look, and turned around it was so gross. He told me he could hold it til we got home, we came home and woila.. the little man went in the potty!! Such a big boy! Well pooping has been harder.. he holds it til he can't hold it anymore.. says he has to poop, goes to the potty and refuses to go. End result...a poopy mess in his underwear thats uncomfortable. Well yesterday, he pooped 2 times in the "toilet". We are so proud of him and he gets so excited he has to show whoever is here. We are just glad to be done with diapers.. at least for the next few months that is! But the best part... We are ready for Preschool.. YAY~~~

The little Fishy!

Whenever Mateo sees a pool, he's ready to strip and go in...the funny thing is, he hasn't really been in a real pool since he was 10 months old in Hawaii. So this time we took advantage and he LOVED it! He loved his floaties with the fishies on them and his "tuba" with the froggies. He loved to "swim" and float by himself. He got very comfortbable really fast. I am sure lots more pool days are in our near future!

Mommy's Birthday and A day on the Lake

For the weekend we decided to get away and go to the lake. We had to get a mini vacation in before I got out for maternity leave in August. We decided to head up to the lake, fish, and fool around. We had a great time, Mateo loved it, but keeping a little kid occupied on a boat all day, and convincing him it was cool to wear a life jacket all day... no easy tasks.. but we managed and still had a great time. Just a little too much sun.

Father's Day ~ 2009

We were on vacation for Father's Day.. so we just took everything with us. Mateo surprised Daddy with a Jurassic Park Hotwheels set Daddy had his eye on. They had fun playing with it. Forgot to take pics of that.. then we headed out to the lake to do some fishing from the shore.

Happy Father's Day daddy.. We Love You!!

Had to sneak the potty one in...we brought it along to help with the transition and it worked pretty well!!

In Double Digits~

Where has the time gone? I can't figure out if this pregnancy is going by faster or slower than the last. I think it took forever to get to 20 weeks but since then time is passing pretty fast. Especially since we really have nothing done for this baby and we are now in Double Digits.. the ticker today says 92 days to go, which in reality is even less since I am having a c/s. No date yet but hope to have one soon. The furniture for Mateo's big boy room arrives tomorrow. It will be spending some time in the garage since we aren't ready for that yet either. Hopefully if all works out we will be painting his room in a few weeks. Once his room is done, then we will move onto babies.

Update on the Big Brother. Mateo is finally going Pee in the Potty on a more regular basis. Definitlely accidents but he is getting better at telling us and using the potty. Good thing since preschool is creeping up on us very quickly. He loves to hug his baby brother. He hugs my belly all the time and tells me "mommy I love the baby". It's pretty sweet. But let's see how much he loves the baby when he comes home with us to stay!

Lots of fun stuff planned in the next few weeks, with Father's Day, My Birthday, a short family vacation and Mateo's Birthday and Party we are going to be pretty busy. Will keep you updated~!

Daddy's Birthday!

Mateo loves Birthdays. He loves to say Happy Birthday.. and this year he even sang to daddy, I will upload that video soon. He loves to yell "surprise" for anything and most of all, he loves to blow out candles. (not only cake candles, I cant even keep a regular candle lit around here because he blows it out!!)

This picture is my favorite!

My little Fisherman!

A little while back Jeff bought Mateo a Mickey fishing pole and he has been dying to go fishing since. So this weekend, we woke up at the crack of dawn and headed to our little spot on the lake. Mateo was excited and all was good. It took a little while but Jeff caught a little bass that he was teaching Mateo how to hold and shortly after Mateo went on a fish catching spree. He caught 7, yes 7 bluegill. The water was so clear that you could actually see the fish eating the worms. He had so much fun and of course wanted to do it again and again. But how will we explain to the little man next time when it probably won't be so easy to catch so many fish.
He can't wait to go fishing again!

Bug Catchers!

For about the past month, Mateo has been FASCINATED with BUGS! It doesn't matter what kind, as long as it moves... and quite honestly even if it doesn't move. He screams with joy for Jeff and I to come and look at what he's found. It's very cute but tiring too. Well over the weekend Jeff and Mateo got a bug catcher. So they headed right out to the backyard to catch some bugs!

Looking at his bugs with his Magnifying glass!

Potty Training...Success in small steps~

We have been trying with the whole potty training on and off for a while. Mateo hasn't really had too much interest, and theres no need to push him. Well this weekend, we were home and had some serious time to spend on it and miraculously we had some success. I decided to keep him diaperless in hopes it would help. Well the first incident led to him hiding and peeing in his closet...yeah not a good thing. And that was after sitting on the potty many, many times.
But on day two. After trying many times to sit on the potty with no success, he then went outside to play in the pool diaperless. Much to our surprise 5 min later he was knocking on the back door saying he had to go potty. Jeff took him into the bathroom, he sat on his potty, asked Jeff to leave and woala. He peed all by himself. Which obviously resulted in a treat and a trip to get some ice cream. He was very excited but hmmm was it a fluke, can we keep it going? Updates soon to come.
And my husband thinks I am crazy cause I took pictures... but what can I say~!

This is my cheesy grin~!

The Heat Is On!

This weekend was HOT! So we broke out the pool, the water table, and the sprinklers! Mateo spent most of his time outside and had a blast. And of course, his animals kept him busy the whole time. He plays with them more than any other toy. We often wonder why we even have other toys??? But needless to say, Mateo beat the heat with water, water and more water! What more can a little boy ask for?

all cheezed up and ready to go outside!

Animals are coolin off too

Would you please stop taking my picture!!!!!!!!

How cute are them little buns. We spent a lot of time diaperless hoping for potty success!

Go Fly a Kite!

Usually I try not to work my full shift 1 day a week. If I do that next day Mateo and I are on our own for the day. That usually means little to no sleep for me. Well today...work got busy and I didn't get home til after 7. Only to find Mateo still asleep and Jeff just laying next to him. He looked at me and said "how bout I take a work share day and you can get some sleep". Woo hoo for me. Especially since Mateo had a Dr's appt in Livermore at 2pm. So as I went to sleep Jeff and Mateo headed downstairs to have daddy's specialty breakfast - Mickey and Minnie pancakes.
I guess after breakfast they headed out to the park. It has been pretty windy so they went to fly the kite. Mateo insisted on carrying the kite on the whole way to the park. Then Jeff let Mateo fly it all by himself. I wish I would have been there.. but then oh how I do love my sleep too!! Luckily Jeff took pictures on his phone. Hope you enjoy them!!

Such a big boy!

Look mommy, I can fly a kite all by myself!

A prediction of the next few years!!

Boys in our house

There are boys in my house – and Spiderman shoes
And 200 papers in various blues.
There's Bob (he's a builder) and Thomas the Train,
There's a fireman coat to wear in the rain.
They have cars on their shirts and frogs on their hats
There's a glove and a ball and a red plastic bat.
There's dirt on a face and a smudge on a nose;
Grass stains on knees and sand between toes.
There's bathtime at night with bodies to scrub,
And when we're all done there is dirt in the tub!
There's bandaids and bruises and curious bumps,
There's smiles and laughter and sometimes there's grumps.
There's odors most icky; there's boogers so green
There's more yucky things than I'll ever get clean.
There's piles of laundry; there's stories at night;
There's bedtime and bathtime and dinnertime fights.
There's cars and there's trains and there's books about trucks
There's Scoop, Lofty, Dizzy, and Travis, and Muck.
Sometimes there are bugs, and sometimes there are frogs;
Sometimes they are lions, or dinos, or dogs.
There are cute little vests and darling neckties
Dragged right through the mud – oh what a surprise!
There's running and climbing and jumping and falling
And laughing and crying and hugging and brawling
And rolling and losing and finding and creeping
And whining and stealing and sometimes there's sleeping.
There's tantrums and time outs and extra loud noise –
There's love in my house shaped like two little boys.

Ultrasound at 17 weeks 4 days!

Just an ultrasound we did at work for fun... trying to see if we have a little girl or boy baby in there. Little one was not cooperating. Anyways.. it's fun to watch. The beginning is harder to see...mainly a belly and legs but towards the end you can really see the whole body and how much the little one is moving and shaking in there. Hope to get a better one soon!
