Mommy's Birthday!

For Mommy's Birthday we decided to make it a long weekend. We started the day with presents from Daddy and Mateo. Among other things lucky me got a hand held mini video camera to capture all our special moments!! We then headed off to Roaring Camp Railroad near Santa Cruz and spent the day sharing sno cones, watching the ducks and riding the train. And I think we picked the hottest weekend of the year! But we all had a great time. We then went to downtown Santa Cruz, Mateo got to have his first Very Own ice cream cone which he loved and devoured! We then headed off to the Boardwalk and walked around and played tons of games. We had a great day!! We decided to make it a long weekend so we stayed overnight and then on Mommys actual birthday we went to the Aquarium. Mateo had tons of fun playing with all the cool things they had and looking at all the fish etc. We realized though that Mateo has not been overnight and to a hotel since last year in Hawaii so he started to get a little grumpy and we headed home. We ended the night with a yummy cake and lots of giggles!!

This weekend we had our pictures taken as a family. It was fun and Mateo was Mateo...full of energy, did not want to sit still and kept us all on our toes..but what can you expect from a little boy about to turn 2!! With all that said, Veronica and Justin were able to capture some great shots. So far we just have a teaser of some of the pictures, we will have the rest in a few weeks but here is what Veronica has done so far. We love them and can't wait to see the rest.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!

To all the daddy's we know... we hope you had a fabulous Father's Day!

We started the day off by waking up and going for an early morning bike ride, stopped off at the park so daddy could play basketball and Matoe played with his chalk. Daddy taught Mateo how to dribble and he loved it. He giggled and giggled, it was so cute. We just hung around the house because that's what daddy wanted to do. Made a yummy dinner that we ate outside on the patio and then Mommy went to work and let her 2 boys spend the evening together!

Mommy helping Mateo play with his chalk~

Poor Mateo hit his head on the bar, the hat was blocking his view so daddy helped him and made it all better!

Visiting Giselle

This weekend, Mommy, Nanna and Mateo went to Temecula to visit mommy's friend Mirna and her family. Her little girl Giselle's Birhtday was on May 31st and we got to celebrate her 4th Birthday with her. She had a Little Mermaid party. The kids spent most of the day in the pool and full of sweets ~ pinata candy, cake, and a cotton candy machine. Sounds like kid heaven to me. And yes, Mateo got to share in all of it, and his first taste of cotton candy. But not his first pinata.. I think he is up to about 4 now. He will be quite the pro by his own birthday next month. We had a lot of fun with the other kids... even though Mateo was not his usual self. A lot of yelling, not listening...etc etc. I am hoping it was because of the long car ride and different environment. Or a phase that will be very short lived. Mateo got to go in the pool a little bit.. he probably would have liked it better if mommy got in to but maybe next time. He did a lot of falling too but he's a boy... what do you expect... good thing he's a great healer! He shared his favorite movie "Tarzan" with Giselle, but she wasn't too interested. What do you expect, she is a princess and likes princess movies :-). The car ride home wasn't too bad. Mommy and Nanna must know Tarzan by heart now.. he watched a whopping 3 1/2 times on the way home.. kept him entertained. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

His poor boo boo! Handled it like a trooper!
